That’s the number one question we get from people installing the Arnacon application. They compare our world to traditional telephony and, as a result, worry about receiving unwanted calls and messages.
The irony is that the primary purpose of telephony was to enable any two people to connect and have a direct voice call. However, spam has led us to a point where we now want to avoid calls that do not serve our direct interests.
To address this, we rely on Arnacon’s security, which guarantees that the caller is genuinely who they claim to be—something traditional caller ID in the GSM system cannot provide.
Once we are certain of the caller’s identity, users can choose how they want to handle incoming calls:
- They may accept any call (including anonymous calls).
- If a new caller ID wants to contact them, they will first receive a request (similar to a LinkedIn connection request). Only after approval will the caller be able to proceed.
- Advanced users can set their caller ID selection based on an AI algorithm or a specific level of KYC verification.
The key difference is that the Web3 Arnacon network is designed from the ground up to eliminate spam. We can even handle fraud scenarios—but that’s a topic for another post.
